The Calabria region is surrounded on three sides by the sea. The coastline is over 700 km of crystal clear water. Calabrian waters are full of a variety of interesting wrecks, from ancient merchant ships to World War II shipwrecks.
In addition to the standard GUE Tech1 curriculum, we will also focus on the history of local shipwrecks and introduction to project diving. You will learn how to identify and interpret shipwreck elements, and how to use the available documentation to plan and perform enjoyable wreck dives.
deco A typical GUE Tech1 training schedule is as follows:
Day 1-3:
Theory, dry runs and training dives up to 30m, including: line work with a primary reel, solving various equipment failures underwater, operating the deco cylinder and gas switch procedures, rescue in technical diving, ascent training and conducting simulated decompression.
Day 3-6:
Trimix dives in the range of 30-51m, using previously acquired skills in practice – planning and performing wreck dives, performing assigned tasks and solving problems, fluent use of the concept of practical decompression.
Technical diving requires an appropriate level of awareness, skills and equipment. During this training, you will learn how to safely and consciously perform dives to a depth of 51 meters. The training covers procedures for planning and carrying out up to 30 minutes of decompression, using nitrox or oxygen.
