A spontaneous dive from Jastarnia in a team of three.
The model we made represents the wreck of a wooden fishing boat, resting at a depth of 30 m in the Bay of Puck, Poland.
φ = 54° 39′ 28.1″ N
λ = 018° 40′ 14.8″ E
Maximum depth: 31 m
Minimum depth: 27 m
Length: ~19 m
Width: ~5.5 m
Estimated year of sinking: ~1960
According to our findings, it is one of the old fishing boats deliberately sunk in the 60s. It seems that this was a quite common practice at the time, probably cheaper than official disposal.
In 2021, the wreck was cleaned of ghost nets by Ghost Diving Poland. Thanks to this, you can now see some details like a piece of a propeller protruding from the silt . 🙂
