U-boats (German: Unterseeboot, U-Boat) are submarines used by the German Navy during the First and Second World Wars. U-boats terrified and fascinated with their tactics and effectiveness. However, the crew of each U-boat knew how great the risks of their service were. More than 20 U-boats sank or were lost in the waters of the Baltic Sea along the Polish coast. U-Boot Week 2023 is an initiative of GUE divers. During our dives, we wanted to document and better understand the history of these iconic wrecks. Our goal was also to promote diving in the Baltic Sea.
In the period of July 7-10, 2023, we performed dives on the wrecks of the following submarines:
During the dives, we collected photo/video material, performed photogrammetry of some characteristic elements and collected documentation of ghost nets lying on the wrecks.
In the video that we managed to record, you can see fragments of the dives we have made, details of the submarines we have visited and 3D models that we have recorded.
