GUE T1

WHY IS IT WORTH IT ?

Technical diving requires the appropriate level of awareness, skills, and equipment. During this training, you will learn how to safely and consciously plan and conduct dives to a maximum depth of 51 meters, using standard gases. The training includes procedures for planning and performing decompression lasting up to 30 minutes, using nitrox or oxygen.

A key element of the GUE T1 (Technical Diver 1) course is learning how to safely and efficiently resolve equipment failures. A bottom gas or decompression gas leak, light failure, or a damaged mask are serious situations that pose real risks in technical diving. During the T1 course, we emphasize building equipment awareness and practice identifying and consciously responding to various failures.

Another advantage of the GUE T1 course is the development of skills in managing task loading underwater. In this course, you will learn how to handle multiple challenges simultaneously – both in the context of individual skills and teamwork. The ability to resolve equipment issues while maintaining buoyancy control, navigation, and team communication is a key trait of responsible technical divers.

Completing the GUE T1 training means acquiring the competencies necessary to participate in more advanced and complex project dives. Additionally, holding a valid GUE Technical Diver 1 certification is required to begin the GUE CCR1 training.

FOR WHOM?

The GUE T1 course is intended for divers at the GUE Fundamentals level. The curriculum provides:

  • Acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to plan and execute dives using trimix and decompression gases to a depth of 51 meters.
  • expanding situational awareness, including areas such as identifying and resolving equipment failures, efficiently planning and adapting the decompression plan to the circumstances, and much, much more…
  • prerequisite to continue your diving education at the T2 or CCR1 level.

The candidate for the GUE T1 program must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be physically and mentally fit.
  • Be a non-smoker.
  • Be able to swim.
  • Hold a valid GUE Fundamentals certification.
  • Have a minimum of 100 logged dives beyond autonomous entry-level scuba diver.

The Technical Diver Level 1 course is normally conducted over six days. It requires a minimum of seven dives (including three trimix experience dives) and at least 48 hours of instruction, encompassing classroom lectures, land drills, and in-water work.

Classes can be organized at any location with access to water and standard GUE gases. We regularly organise classes in places such as:

  • Gdańsk, Poland (Baltic Sea)
  • Croatia
  • Malta
  • Spain
  • Italy
