The GUE Rescue Primer is an intensive course introducing rescue techniques that can prove crucial in emergency situations both underwater and on the surface. The training focuses on the skills necessary to respond effectively to problems such as loss of consciousness, running out of gas, or symptoms of decompression sickness. The course is addressed to divers at all levels who want to acquire or expand their skills in emergency management and increase their underwater safety.

No, the GUE Rescue Primer is an introductory course, so no previous experience in dive rescue is required. However, to join the course, it is necessary to have a valid certificate in basic first aid and CPR, e.g. DAN Basic Life Support (BLS).
The GUE Rescue Primer course requires you to be in good physical condition due to some exercises and simulated rescues. However, it is not extremely demanding – the instructor will adapt the exercises and scenarios to the physical abilities of individual participants.
Revise the procedures and knowledge from your previous GUE courses. During the training, you will use the previously acquired skills many times. Your stability in the water is especially important – to effectively help someone in need, you must first be able to move freely in the water and control your buoyancy.
