The Doubles Primer course is usually completed in one day. It includes a minimum of two dives and at least eight hours of instructions, including theoretical lectures, exercises on land and in-water sessions.

During this training, you will gain knowledge and skills in the following areas:

🗹 knowledge about the twinset configuration,

🗹 buoyancy control, trim and propulsion techniques,

🗹 basic manifold operation in a twinset (valve drill),

🗹 basic skills (the so-called Basic5).

This course is addressed to everyone who wants to start diving in a twinset configuration. The Doubles Primer training is particularly useful for those planning to take the GUE Fundamentals course later on,

The training is available to divers without prior training in the GUE system.

During the training, you will also learn the necessary theory:

  • Introduction to the GUE system
  • Introduction to double cylinder setups: cylinders & clamps, manifolds
  • Configuration of breathing regulators: hose routing, principles of the standard GUE configuration.
  • Nitrox diving (optional)
  • Buoyancy and trim
  • Dive planning and GUE EDGE protocol

Situational awareness

During this training, you will master key skills such as:

  • Fitting and functioning – proper configuration of the twinset, harness and regulators
  • Breathing gas analysis and marking
  • GUE EDGE – pre dive checks
  • Basic 5 Diving Skills (Basic 5)
  • Conscious valve – drill
  • Team diving basics
What are the benefits of completing the GUE Doubles Primer course

Safe twinset diving – This course provides you with the knowledge and skills necessary to dive safely in a twinset configuration, allowing you to increase your breathing gas supply and equipment redundancy.

Improved buoyancy and trim control – Participants learn how to achieve optimal buoyancy and maintain proper trim, resulting in greater comfort and safety during the dive.

Knowledge of advanced equipment configurations – The course allows you to learn how to use the configuration that is used by technical and cave divers. This is the first step towards more advanced diving.

m Team diving protocols – The course places a strong emphasis on teamwork, teaching protocols and procedures that ensure safe and effective team diving.

Is it true that I can fail this training?

The GUE standards are unambiguous. If a diver does not meet the minimum requirements for passing a given training, unfortunately they cannot receive the certification immediately.

No worries. If you fail the training, you will get the time necessary to practice, correct what you missed and take the exam at a different time.
